The first new Livestock Information Service will be for reporting sheep, goat and deer movements, replacing the current ARAMS service. This is the first step of a broader rollout that will incorporate cattle and pig movement reporting and eventually lead to a paperless process in the future.
The new service is being developed through a partnership with industry and government.
Our priority is to transition safely and orderly to the Livestock Information Service, with minimal disruption, to offer multiple benefits for the livestock industry:
To be a key component in animal disease management and control, allowing the UK government to meet its statutory and international obligations
To provide opportunities for more information to be made available to the agriculture
industry, promoting greater efficiency and productivity
To yield wider economic benefits by facilitating access to export markets
We’ll let you know soon what you need to do to start using the Livestock Information Service.
